Project Title: CRESTART – Creative Resilient Learning Communities Meeting COVID Challenges

Project ID: 2021-1-HU01-KA220-ADU-000027016

Implementation period: 1 Nov 2021 – 31 Oct 2023

Funding Amount: €187,220

Funding Programme: Erasmus+

Goal of the project

The COVID-19 crisis brought unexpected and unprecedented challenges to local communities across nearly every aspect of life.
Lockdowns and social distancing forced cultural activities to be reimagined, leading to the emergence of innovative and creative solutions around the world—solutions worth sharing and building upon.

As part of the CRESTART project, we organized focus groups, trainings, and workshops in Érd, Amsterdam, Sofia, and Nicosia, and developed an online toolkit to help local communities prepare for potential future natural, economic, or environmental challenges.

The main goal was to support local communities during times of crisis and to equip community organizers with the knowledge and tools needed to plan and deliver events, activities, and gatherings that can thrive even under difficult circumstances.

In the long term, the project aims to positively impact mental well-being and strengthen social cohesion within communities.

Main Activities

We conducted both online and offline research in the four participating countries to map local communities, exploring their traditions and the impact of COVID-19.

Based on these findings, we developed an online educational platform that draws on both national and international best practices, helping communities learn how to effectively organize and sustain local community life.

At the conclusion of the project, we produced a Social Impact Report, which serves as a model and resource for organizations and community initiatives.

A key focus of the project was capacity building for local stakeholders.

To support this, we organized training workshops and multiplier events in each participating country, involving local organizers as well.
