Goal of the project

The SUBLIME project aims to foster active engagement in climate protection and gender equality. It supports local municipalities in addressing sustainability challenges more effectively and helps community members better understand global issues.

The project promotes sustainability, environmental awareness, and cooperation — all in pursuit of a more liveable future. As part of the initiative, an annual call for proposals is launched for youth, civil society organisations, and artists in Baranya County to implement local actions. 

2025: Youth-led climate protection initiatives (Kamalé projects currently underway) 

2026: Focus on the role of communities and women in society 

2027: Spotlight on artistic expressions and creative engagement

Main activities

Promoting the project and its activities, with a primary focus on young people, women, and community leaders 

Organising online international training for youth and community members on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)gender equality, and civic participation 

Hosting workshops for youth and community leaders 

Supporting community actions that address climate change, sustainable living, and other local challenges 

Launching and supporting art initiatives  

Running online summer schools to engage and educate young people 

Developing regional sustainable development action plans 

Implementing municipal programs in Baranya County, and a sustainability event in the capital city 

Results

Survey on awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and related civic participation in Siklós District 

“Voices of Siklós District” community meetings held in November 2024 and January 2025 

Launch of the KAMALÉ – Youth Climate Action call for proposals 

Selection of KAMALÉ grant winners 

Preparation of winning projects through international online training and mentoring support provided by the Cromo Foundation 

Implementation of the KAMALÉ programme, featuring three youth-led projects aimed at mitigating climate change, running from April to December 2025 

Awareness-raising activities on the Sustainable Development Goals, climate change, and Baranya youth’s eco-conscious KAMALÉ projects at the Ördögkatlan Festival

The committee selected three winning projects from the applications submitted for the call.

The winning projects are:

  • Babits Komarov Friends Circle – Garden for Everyone

  • Pécsbánya Cultural Association – Inner Gardens, Living Walls

  • Association of Pécs University Students – Green Future – Youth Climate Action
