The Winning Projects

  • The Garden of Knowledge (Manna Alapítvány): The goal of the project is to implement a community-based, sustainability-focused program involving the teachers, students, and families of the Reformed School in Nagyharsány, which builds on local natural resources to promote an environmentally conscious lifestyle, knowledge of backyard farming, and community cooperation. The project implements environmental education through experiential learning: children and their parents connect with sustainability through their own experiences, focusing on plant care, understanding the role of soil, water conservation, and the basics of food self-sufficiency.

  • Circular Economy in Old and the Surrounding Area (Fiatal Erőforrások Közössége Egyesület): The project aims to raise environmental awareness among the local population, improve the condition of the local environment, and strengthen community cooperation and responsibility. The planned series of programs includes community litter cleanup campaigns, workshops promoting selective waste collection, craft recycling workshops, furniture restoration sessions, and awareness-raising events for preschoolers and school-age children. Children and young people learn about the concept of the circular economy through playful, experiential methods, while adults gain practical knowledge for sustainable household management.
  • Community Garden and Sustainability Through the Revival of Traditions, Beás Skanzen for Sustainability (Beás Skanzen Egyesület): The project aims to provide a practical demonstration of environmental protection and sustainable living, promote the creation of environmental harmony, and revive tradition-based knowledge through community building in Alsószentmárton. The project’s main activities include community workshops on environmental protection and sustainability, demonstrations of traditional techniques for making adobe bricks and basket weaving, the creation of a 100 m² community garden, as well as baking and cooking using a traditional oven and showcasing traditional culinary culture.
