During the project, we used an online questionnaire to assess the public’s knowledge and habits regarding the circular economy. Based on the results, identified problems were discussed jointly by citizens, policymakers, and decision-makers at both in-person and online meetings, as well as at awareness-raising events.
The work was carried out using a crowdsourcing method: each partner organisation relied on its own community, then the collected results were compared, and common conclusions were drawn. The questionnaire helped uncover the public’s knowledge, commitment, and the obstacles that hinder active engagement in the circular economy. The summary is presented in a report that describes the project and its evaluation.
Report on the Hungarian survey:
The project examined citizens’ knowledge, attitudes, habits, and needs regarding the circular economy at the level of individual Member States.
The We-DEMOCRACY project brought together researchers from Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Italy, and Romania with the aim of fostering active European citizenship and improving the conditions for civic and e-democratic participation. The project organized a series of activities designed to empower citizens to learn from one another, collaborate, and participate in decision-making processes in the field of the circular economy.
The circular economy is a model of production and consumption that involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible. In this way, the lifecycle of products is extended.
