DCYDE!

Project Title: DCYDE! – Digital Global Citizenship for Youngsters & Educators in Partnership

Project ID: NDICI CSO/2023/ 448-376

Implementation Period: July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2027

Funding amount: €196.786

Funding Programme: DEAR Programme (European Commission)

Goal of the project

The DCYDE! project aims to showcase and promote best practices for how educators and stakeholders can leverage digital tools and online communication to create hybrid Global Citizenship Education (GCE) learning environments. These environments serve as living laboratories for sustainable global development, engaging young people both within the EU and beyond — especially in the Global South.

All project outcomes will be published not only in the languages of the participating countries, but also in English and Spanish, ensuring accessibility to the widest possible audience across Europe and globally.
The activities will positively impact the language skills and media literacy of all target groups involved.

Main Activities

We are developing a joint, digitally-supported Global Citizenship Education (GCE) methodology tailored for non-formal education in Hungary.
More than 40 digital tools and methods are being created, all designed with a strong focus on gender equality and non-discrimination.

We are training NGO staff and youth workers to confidently integrate these tools into their everyday work.
And we won’t stop at training — mentoring, experience-sharing, and community learning will be key parts of the journey.

All materials will be hosted on a digital platform and mobile app, making them easily accessible to everyone.
We’re launching a nationwide campaign to reach as many young people (aged 10–30) and educators as possible.

In Hungary, we aim to engage around 200–300 young people in non-formal GCE activities.
All results will be shared on the DCYDE platform, enabling others to learn from and build on our work.

Results

We’re diving into an exciting international journey of community planning, filled with both online and in-person meetups involving partner organisations and representatives from the Global South.

We’re developing a comprehensive educational concept, including a digital international toolkit for Global Citizenship Education (GCE), and a practical guide for teachers, youth leaders, and community organisers passionate about integrating global responsibility into their work.

The international training course for trainers has already taken place, with our colleagues actively participating — and now they’re looking forward to launching the first training sessions.

This August, we’re kicking off the very first round of training for young leaders.
Follow us on social media, sign up for our newsletter, and don’t miss this opportunity!
The training will run from October to December 2025.
